with this knowledge im ready to take over the world >:)
no subtitles available? lame
Sorry you feel that way. I made the video almost 14 years ago when youtube was in its infancy and subtitles were not available. Do you need them for reasons of being hearing impaired or rather for homework a teacher has given you? If it's for hearing impaired needs, reach out and I can provide the script used to produce the video.
EXCELLENT video !
Wonderfully informative. and helpful to me as director constantly trying to excel in my craft, so, why o why this intrusive, distracting music? It's driving me mad!!
So much helpful.
Hi! Thank you so much for your videos! They are a huge help as I teach a middle school musical theater class. Is there any chance you still have the old resources that were on your website? I used the crossword and the notes for several of your videos, but don't have any copies. I love the look of your updated website but miss the resources. Thank you!
I'd love to help. Do you have an e-mail you can send, and I'll get them to you that way. :)
Krista, thank you for the video. I have it as a favorite YT video and review it once in a few years. It has helped me during my college years and I currently apply it on a daily basis, at work. Thanks, again, for the material.
That makes me so happy to hear! I made these videos so long ago, I'm glad they're still of use. :) Cheers, and best wishes!
No offence, I love jazz music but its distracting and overshadowing ur voice
No offense taken. I agree. The videos were made 13 years ago during RUclips’s infancy, and while the content holds up, there’s a LOT I would change now. Thanks for your feedback.
I'm actually here cuz I'm interested in drama and theatre
Excellent!
If you’re trying to make it easy, you lost. 😉 Kidding. But it takes practice to really get used to everything. I used to direct shows at a high school for many years and at the same time I directed shows for a local community theatre and youth theatre. When directing you don’t have time to go over all of these things with kids. So I taught a series of classes about stuff like this and ended up doing several more because of the amount of students wanting to learn it. We played games that involved theatre terms and and even tick-tac-toe with stage directions.
I, too, have directed theatre for 24 years, and have also directed at one of the biggest community theatre in the country. However, these videos are not for my casts - they are for my classroom students. In length alone, they're not really appropriate for educating casts, so I definitely wouldn't recommend using them for that. (I do all of my "cast learning" in the context of the show, and also in person.) In the classroom, however, I teach and review the information in a myriad of ways beyond these teaching videos - including games, scene prompts using stage directions, etc. Mostly I use the videos to be sure that absent classroom students have access to all the information learned and practiced in class, and ALL learners have a review of information at their fingertips throughout the semester if needed. :) Thanks for reaching out! Best of luck.
Excellent tool! Thank you.
Awesome

The video on Blocking was very helpful for my AP Literature kids as we are starting "Twelfth Night" and I'm having them do a project that requires a deeper understanding of drama as a genre. One quick correction, though: at 2:27 of the video, you write "make crosses downsage from furniture & actors." It should be "downstage." Small error in an otherwise professional and informative video. Thanks for putting it out!
Oops! Thanks for reporting that. I'm glad the video is helpful to you/your students. :)
Happy 2022! You can change the world. The ability to speak is a powerful gift. It seems like there is always something new to learn about public speaking. Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of Lights (ultimately). The best gift ever given to mankind is the Word that became flesh and died for us that we might have everlasting life. For ages He has been attracting people from all classes calling them to experience repentence, peace and joy. When we take a moment waiting on His love in the middle of a speech, for example, our fears are cast out, our voice will be able to produce a wonderful influence on those who hear us. Resting in Him, our life will bear witness that we are with Him. Thanks. Blessings
Fabulous content on this channel Krista. Liked and Subscribed. Bravo!
Thanks so much for taking the time to say that! :)
Any way you could add closed captioning as an option for viewing?
you should quiet the music in the background
This is a Fantastic video... but the background music is a little too loud making it hard to hear you. Thank you very much for sharing this video.
Where can I get a copy of the survey and scoresheet?
The reason we have Hw XD
Sorry to hear that. I'm actually a NO homework teacher (and have been for more than a decade). If you feel my videos are causing your teacher to give you more homework, that bums me out, BUT if my videos provide you with the information that you would have had to formerly read, then hopefully the video is more helpful to you than other ways of learning content. Best of luck to you!
we all here from English💀
love the video btw im a student of theatre arts I hope i become an actor :)
Very good video.
11 years ago but still useful
I know why you’re here ... why you’re REALLY here
Not sure what that means? LOL
@@kristadawnprice He means that their teacher is asking them to watch this video. I mean, I don't blame 'em, this video is packed with great knowledge and I enjoy watching it
forced to be here
not my theatre teacher making me watch this
I hope it is at least helpful for whatever your teacher is trying to teach you. :)
@@kristadawnprice definitely is. Its just the fact that i have to write a ten sentence summary on five of your videos. SO MUCH TO DO
What a great find! I have been sharing your videos with my classes. With COVID restrictions in place, your videos have been a great help! Thank you for putting together such nicely narrated videos with such good photos examples!
I'm so glad to hear that my videos have been helpful to you and your students. :) Thanks for your kind words. (What an interesting year in education it has been! LOL)
Very helpful and informative information! I think what my objective will be for a play that I will be directing is to build on the intensity of the scene by starting them characters far apart from each other and as the intensity build having them gradually come closer in a downward spiral until they are face to face on the same plane.
Now I wonder if that was used to create this video
Yes, I checked
If what was used?
(The Motivated Sequence? Or something else?)
@@kristadawnprice yes, the Monroe's sequence
XD
Mrs house made me watch this 😅
Just wondering if you are a seller on TPT? I have searched for you under "Krista Price" but it comes up with nothing. I would pay for your resources!!

Why can't I use captions??
Idk. But I did make/upload these videos during RUclips's infancy, so maybe that's why?
@@kristadawnprice Thanks anyway! :)
@@Magz0708 Sorry I couldn't help! Are you using for Education? I could send a transcript if needed. Just let me know...
@@kristadawnprice It is fine. I have already finished my work so I do not need it. Thanks again.
Thank you so much, this wuz so helpful
I'm so glad it was helpful to you! :)
You are only reading not explaining but I found few of explaining
I'm not sure what this means. (?) (Yes, I was reading a teaching script I wrote to explain the types of stages - is that what you're referring to?)
Jenny she explained everything, you just didn’t understand
Thanks
No problem! :)

yes
Well that's unnecessarily aggressive. Be kind. The world needs more of it. If you don't want to learn about types of stages, kindly leave. It's not for you.
Thanks for posting Krista Price. I have been using the video in my theatre class and my students want to give you a huge 'thank you' for this video through me. Please take the love of my students.
How kind of you to take the time to say! I made these videos over a decade ago, so I'm happy they're still useful to so many people. Cheers! :)
@@kristadawnprice a decade ago! Now in this pandemic situation, your videos are so useful as home tasks or online classes. By the way, are you still in the teaching profession?
@@robighosh7938 Yup! I'm in my 23rd year of teaching High School theatre. I've built programs at two schools previous to the one I am at now. I'm currently teaching/directing at Oxford High School in Oxford, MI. :)
@@kristadawnprice Can you give me your Email Id. I want to talk with you regarding theatre studies in your country.
Really watching this for school
This is very well done. Thank you for sharing as it was very helpful for my beginning students with the constant visuals.
Thanks! I'm glad it worked well for you and your classroom! :)
